This cute baby panda is the latest new arrival at the San Diego Zoo. Born in August to Chinese-born mother panda Bai Yun, the baby panda was left alone with mother for a month so that bonding could take place. Only this week did zoo staff examine the baby panda and determine that it’s a boy. Bai Yun is one of two giant pandas on loan to the San Diego Zoo from the Chinese government. This baby panda, which in keeping with Chinese tradition won’t be named for 100 days, is Bai Yun’s fifth cub.
